$18,538 in goods stolen from Patapsco home

A burglar escaped with jewelry, cash and three handguns worth a total of $18,538 after breaking into a Patapsco-area home while the residents were away between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

State police said Karen Mae Hare of the 900 block of Ridge Road reported that someone had kicked in the rear door of her home and ransacked the house for valuables.

Ms. Hare said a 1 1/2 -carat diamond ring valued at $10,000 and $4,000 in cash were taken. Three handguns, two semiautomatic weapons and a revolver also were stolen, police reported.

5) Police said they knew of no suspects.
