Miedusiewski thinks about council seat

September 29, 1994|By From Staff Reports

Unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate American Joe Miedusiewski may wind up representing his beloved East Baltimore once again -- on the City Council.

Mr. Miedusiewski, a Canton tavern owner who spent 20 years in the General Assembly before his failed run in the Democratic primary, said he has been contacted about filling a 1st District vacancy on the council.

The vacancy will be created when Councilman Perry Sfikas moves to the General Assembly in January -- the winner of Mr. Miedusiewski's state Senate seat.

He said 1st District Councilman Nicholas C. D'Adamo Jr. has asked him to take the job, but John L. Cain, the district's other representative, has someone else in mind.
