Female pedestrian critically injured

A 25-year-old Sykesville woman was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after she was struck by a car on Route 32 near Londontown Boulevard at 8:18 p.m. Monday. She was listed in critical and stable condition yesterday, a a hospital spokeswoman said.

Stephanie Lynn Ault of the 5700 block of Strawbridge Court attempted to cross the highway as a 1984 Buick driven by Deanne Susan Harris of Finksburg approached, state police said.

The injured pedestrian was taken to the trauma center in the state police MedEvac helicopter. Police are continuing their investigation.

FIRE

* Sykesville: Firefighters from the Sykesville station responded to investigate a report of a residential fire alarm sounding in the 7100 block of Carmae Road at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday. They were out for 29 minutes.

Sykesville firefighters investigated an alarm in a building on Second Avenue at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out for five minutes.

Sykesville assisted Howard County at a fire alarm sounding on Livestock Road at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. They were out for 10 minutes.
