The Easton Club

Rock Easton Ltd. Partnership, an affiliate of Rocks Engineering Company of Vienna, Va., has started development at The Easton Club, a 283-acre parcel fronting on the Tred Avon River in Easton.

Located in Talbot County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the Easton Club will include an 18-hole championship public golf course, 100 single-family homes and 158 townhouses.

Scheduled to open next spring, the golf course was designed by Whole in One Design Group Inc. It is being built by Kenova Construction of West Palm Beach, Fla., builder of the Queenstown Harbor Golf Course in neighboring Queen Anne's County.

Fairway and waterfront lots are being sold to individuals and home builders by Country Properties Inc. of Easton. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Seniors' Housing

Berliner Construction Co. Inc. of Annapolis has begun construction of the 34-unit Grasonville Terrace Seniors' Housing complex adjacent to the existing Senior Day Care Center in Grasonville.

The apartments will have 670 square feet of living space, each with a kitchen, living/dining room combination, handicapped-accessible bathroom and a rear porch.

Designed by the Annapolis firm of Bignell Watkins Architects, the condominiums are being built around traffic-free pedestrian courtyards to encourage group participation.

Senior activities will include vegetable and flower gardening in raised planters placed at the front of each unit, bicycling and management of a pond that will be developed as a plant and wildlife habitat.

Quelet Place

1. Landmark Homes has broken ground at Quelet Place in the Baltimore County community of Perry Hall, where 17 single-family two-story colonials will be built.

The Jennifer Renee, a 2,009-square-foot Colonial with a base price of $180,000, is being built to serve as the model at Quelet Place.

A 12-by-11-foot living room is to the left of the entry foyer, which contains a coat closet and a powder room. The first floor also has a 12-by-10-foot dining room, 11-by-12-foot kitchen, breakfast room and 16-by-15-foot family room.

Upstairs, the master suite contains a 14-by-18-foot bedroom, walk-in closet and full bath. A laundry area, three bedrooms and a second full bath complete the second floor.

The Andrew Harris, winner of a 1993 Home Builders Association of Maryland design award, can also be built at Quelet Place. It has 1,838 square feet of living space and a starting price of $179,900.

A 20-by-12-foot kitchen with a center work island and breakfast area, 14-by-16-foot family room, dining room, 15-by-13-foot living room and a powder room are located on the first floor.

The upper level has a master suite with a 13-by-16-foot bedroom, his and her closets and a bath with a soaking tub, separate shower and dual vanities. Two more bedrooms and a full hall bath complete the second floor.

The Thomas Robert is the smallest and least expensive home offered at Quelet Place. It costs $177,900 for 1,907 square feet. The four-bedroom house has a two-car garage, family room and first-floor laundry room.

The sales center at Quelet Place is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

From I-695 take U.S. 1 North to a right on Joppa Road, a left on Ramblebrook, a left on Pent Angel and a left on Halbert to the office on the left.

2. Fairwinds Development LLC has sold 157 lots in Claybrooke, a residential community to be developed in Woodlawn in western Baltimore County, to Ryland Homes and Keystone Homes.

Ryland will build 84 single-family homes with prices starting in the mid-$120,000s. Keystone will construct 73 townhomes priced the low $90,000s.

Claybrooke is located just off Rolling Road, a half mile north of Dogwood Road. The first homes are expected to be available for occupancy in spring.
