Woman arrested after fracas with two officers outside bar

September 21, 1994

Two Eastern District officers arrested a Glen Burnie woman Monday morning for allegedly kicking one of them and spitting at the other as they tried to arrest her outside a Pasadena bar.

Cpl. Darrell Gray and Sgt. Allen Muir went to the Lake Shore Tavern in the 1300 block of Lake Drive about 1:30 a.m. after they were called about a disorderly woman. They found a woman sitting on the roof of a pickup truck outside of the bar, police said.

The owner of the bar told the officers the woman had spent 40 minutes in the rest room and had punched another woman who went in to see what was taking her so long. Corporal Gray and Sergeant Muir ordered the woman to leave and arrested her when she refused.

Police said she kicked Corporal Gray when he tried to get her into the car and spat on Sergeant Muir when he tried to get her out of the car at the station.

Lenora Marie Candia, 29, of the 100 block of N. Crain Highway was charged with battery and disorderly conduct, police said.
