3 burglaries detected, officer arrests suspect

A Northern District officer discovered three burglaries in the 200 block of Transmission Court in Linthicum early Sunday and captured a suspect as he was returning to his car, county police said yesterday.

Officer Kevin Jackson discovered shortly after 2 a.m. that someone had broken into Bill's Barber Shop, Toomey's Bookshop and the Shear Expressions store. He said he spotted a man walking from the stores and approached him, but the man fled into nearby woods.

The officer said he waited near the suspect's car, which was left near the stores and arrested the man when he returned.

Roger Lee Wright, 33, of the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court was charged with theft and breaking and entering, police said.

Driver is stopped, charged with car theft

A Northern District officer arrested a Linthicum man on theft and drug charges after stopping him Friday night in Pumphrey while he was driving an allegedly stolen car, county police said.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Officer Ralph Greaves saw someone driving a 1990 Lexus that had been reported stolen in Baltimore County Sept. 6, police said.

Officer Greaves followed the car to a parking lot in the 6800 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd and arrested the driver, police said.

Officer Greaves reported that he found suspected marijuana on the man and determined that the car had been partially stripped, police said.

Sean William Culver, 18, of the first block of Hampton Road was charged with theft over $300, unauthorized use of an automobile and possession of marijuana, police said.
