5 treated in hospitals after a 3-car accident

Four Annapolis-area teen-agers and a Hyattsville man were sent to hospitals after an accident Sunday night involving three cars on Route 214 at Solomons Island Road, county police said.

Lauretta Ena Tom-Felde, 18, of the 1300 block of Roosevelt Ave., Annapolis, was driving a 1987 Saab east on Route 214 approaching Solomons Island Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. when she tried to make a left turn.

A 1987 Chevrolet Blazer driven west on Route 214 by John Fredrick Kreamer, 30, of the 5300 block of Greenway Drive in Hyattsville, hit Ms. Tom-Felde's car in the passenger side door. The Saab was pushed into a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Paul Kenneth Miller, 71, of the 1200 block of Turkey Point Road, on the front passenger side. Mr. Miller's car was stopped at a red light on Solomons Island Road.

Lyton Edward Peaks, 19, of the 1600 block of Fullerton Road in Edgewater and Brian Curtis, 15, of the 1600 block of Grange Road in Edgewater, both passengers in Ms. Tom-Felde's car, were flown to the trauma center at the Prince Georges County Medical Center with head injuries.

Mr. Peaks was listed in critical condition and Mr. Curtis in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

Jason Knapp, 18, of the 300 block of S. River Club House Road, another passenger in Ms. Tom-Felde's car, and Ms. Tom-Felde were treated at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.

bTC Mr. Kreamer was treated for neck and back injuries at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and released. Mr. Miller and his wife, Doris, also 71, were not injured, police said.

Police probing 2 weekend muggings

Annapolis police are investigating two weekend robberies.

Timothy Patrick Riley, 33, of the 100 block E. Bay View Drive told police that two men approached him in the first block of Dumbarton Court about 9:30 p.m. Friday and robbed him at gunpoint.

The men took his wallet containing $11 and rode off on bicycles toward Bay Ridge Road.

In another incident, Kenneth Moses Batiste, 36, of the 100 block Georgetown Road, said two men threatened him outside his home on about 2:30 a.m. Friday and stole $670.
