O's refunds available starting Monday

September 17, 1994

The Orioles announced yesterday that, starting Monday, fans can get refunds for all 25 home games lost to the strike.

The club and Ticketmaster also announced a refund policy for tickets purchased at Ticketmaster outlets or via Ticketmaster Phone Charge. Buyers of those tickets can obtain refunds for some service fees.

Ticketmaster will refund a "service charge" it adds to the price of each ticket purchased at outlets and by telephone. That fee ranges from $2.50 to $3 per ticket, depending on the price of the ticket. An additional $1.50 per order "handling fee," paid only by those ordering by telephone, will not be refunded, a Ticketmaster official said.

Ticket buyers seeking refunds of their Ticketmaster or Phone Charge fees should tear off the small, blue stub on the left side of their tickets, and mail them with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Baseball Strike, P.O. Box 1234, Hyattsville, MD 20784.

Fans with Ticketmaster tickets who already have sent them to the Orioles or redeemed them for refunds at NationsBank, Maryland National Bank and American Security Bank branches should write a brief letter including their names and any pertinent ticket information, date of game and credit card used for the purchase.

After receiving those letters, Ticketmaster will verify information

and, after confirmation, mail service-charge refunds, company officials said.

Bank refunds of Orioles tickets have to be made by Dec. 31; all other refund options expire at the end of the 1995 season.

Ticketmaster refunds will be made through Dec. 1.
