Lazoen maintains lead after 2nd day of bass tournament

MARBURY -- Veteran Pro Larry Lazoen struggled through a two-hour fog delay to hold his lead with five bass weighing 14 pounds, 4 ounces during the second day of the $195,000 BASSMASTER Maryland Eastern Invitational on the Potomac River yesterday.

Lazoen's 10 bass totaled 33 pounds, 14 ounces, which is 7 ounces more than Jay Yelas, who caught five yesterday.

Carlos Sellers of Phoenix City, Ala., surged from 63rd place to third by catching five bass weighing 17 pounds, 4 ounces, the largest catch of the day. Jim Bitter, a former champion, dropped from fifth to 12th with a second-day total of 9 pounds, 15 ounces.
