Milwaukee Brewers -- Signed a two-year player development deal with Rookie-level Helena.

Seattle Mariners -- Signed a four-year player development deal with Everett of the Single-A Northwest League. Named Ken Griffey Sr. an Arizona Fall League manager; his son Craig will play on the team.


Seattle SuperSonics -- Re-signed G Vincent Askew and F Steve Scheffler.


Arizona Cardinals -- Signed DL Wendall Gaines to the practice squad.

Minnesota Vikings -- Released TE Ray Rowe. Signed LB Martin Harrison.

San Diego Chargers -- Placed DT Blaise Winter and P John Kidd on IR. Agreed to terms with DL John Parrella.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Released RB Jerry Ellison from the practice squad. Re-signed LB Vidal Mills to the practice squad.

World League -- Appointed Marc Lory as president and CEO.
