Arnold man is arrested on marijuana charges

September 13, 1994

An Arnold man was arrested on drug charges Sunday morning after police searched his car in the 1700 block of Ritchie Highway and found seven bags of suspected marijuana, county police said.

Officer Conrad Herold was on routine patrol when he saw a 1986 Toyota parked on the side of Danaker Furniture, shortly after 1:30 a.m. The driver's side door was open and no one was in the car. While Officer Herold checked the car, four men walked up from the Sunoco food store nearby, police said.

Officer Herold noticed suspected marijuana leaves inside the driver's door handle. He also found six bags of suspected marijuana in a duffel bag inside the car. One of the men admitted owning the bag, police said.

William Joseph Hord, 20, of the 100 block of Severn Way was charged with possession of marijuana and the unlawful manufacture of marijuana, police said. After making the arrest, Officer Herold found another bag of suspected marijuana on Mr. Hord, police said.
