U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation -- Named the following four-man teams for the 1994-95 World Cup circuit: Brian Shimer, Randy Jones, Jeff Woodard and Garret Hines; Jim Herberich, James Purvis, Robert Olesen and Will Stolpe; Tuffy Latour, Mike Dionne, Todd Hayes and Joe McDonald.

D8 CFLs -- Signed DT Brent White to the practice squad.

Hockey

Chicago Blackhawks -- Released F Blake Martin and F Gatean Royer. Returned the following players to their junior teams: Patrick Cote, Jim Ensom, Ryan Huska, Mike Josephson, Jean-Yves Leroux, Mike McGhan, Tyler Prosofsky, Marc Dupuis, Lubomir Jandera, Rob Lave, Mike Piersol, Mike Rusk and Ian Gordon.

Hartford Whalers -- Released Corey Osmak, Tony Hrkac and Brad Tiley. Returned the following players to their junior teams: Tom Buckley, Hnat Domenichelli, Molan Pratt, Wes Swinson, Travis Scott and Matt Ball.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Traded the rights to LW Brad Lauer to IHL Cleveland.

Tennis

U.S. Tennis Association -- Named No. 1-ranked Pete Sampras, No. 9 Todd Martin, Jared Palmer (doubles) and Jonathan Stark (doubles) to the U.S. Davis Cup team that will face Sweden in the semifinals Sept. 23-25.
