Rich's goal leads No. 19 Terps women by No. 18 SMU, 5-4

Terri Rich (Dulaney) scored the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining, as No. 19 Maryland defeated 18th-ranked Southern Methodist, 5-4, last night in Dallas.

Terps freshman Carol Finch scored her first two career goals.

* LIBERTY WOMEN 2, MOUNT ST. MARY'S 1: In Lynchburg, Va., host Liberty scored once in each half in the opener for both schools.

Linganore's Carrie Jenkins scored for the Mount with 3:45 remaining on an assist from fellow freshman Michelle Naklicki.

* MEN'S TOURNAMENT: Loyola, ranked No. 19 in the preseason, takes a 2-0 record into its tournament at Curley Field this weekend.

Today the schedule has St. Peter's vs. West Virginia at 1 p.m., followed by Loyola vs. Iona at 3 p.m. Tomorrow, it's Iona vs. West Virginia at 1 p.m. and Loyola vs. St. Peter's at 3 p.m.
