SHOOTING: Southern District -- A 21-year-old resident of the 700 block of Edgewood St. was shot Tuesday night when he approached two men acting suspiciously around his girlfriend's car parked in the 2300 block of Terra Firma Road in Cherry Hill. Shortly after the car's alarm went off around 9:30 p.m., the man went outside to investigate. After telling two men standing near the car to leave, one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the upper left thigh. The gunman and his accomplice fled. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where his condition was listed as good.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A 46-year-old Catonsville woman was trimming the grass around her mother's grave at the New Cathedral Cemetery in the 4200 block of Edmondson Ave. Monday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen from an apartment in the 5500 block of Midwood Ave. Tuesday by someone who reportedly had entered through a second floor entrance.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1987 Isuzu truck with tags 532785M was stolen from the 700 block of E. Lake Ave. sometime Tuesday.

ROBBERY TRY/SHOOTING: Garrison Precinct -- A 22-year-old resident of the first block of Columbus Drive, was walking in the first block of Enchanted Hills Road at the Water Mill apartments late Tuesday night when a gunman whose face was covered with a hood demanded his money. When the victim failed to respond to the gunman's demand, the gunman shot him in the chest with a small caliber handgun. When the victim attempted to flee, the gunman shot him in the buttock. The gunman fled without robbing the victim, who was taken by an ambulance from the Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Company to the Owings Mill Elementary School. There, he was flown by a state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and listed today in serious condition. Shortly after the shooting, police arrested a suspect seen fleeing the area and were holding him pending charges.
