THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the first block of N. Bernice Ave. between Aug. 28 and Sept. 5 and stole a 40 caliber handgun, valued at more than $600, reportedly from a secured gun box.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman stopped a couple walking in the first block of E. 31st St. Monday night and demanded the man's wallet before shoving him into a wall. The gunman escaped with $400, a personal check for $1,000 and other property. The victim, a 23-year-old student at Loyola College, was not injured. The woman reportedly was not robbed.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of Belgian Ave. through a rear window Monday and stole two VCRs valued together at nearly $300.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man entered a house in the 700 block of Exeter Hall Ave. Saturday looking for a young occupant who owed him money. When a female occupant told the man the youth he was looking for was not home, the man demanded money from the woman to settle the debt. After the woman gave the man $10, the man pulled out a knife and held it to the woman's neck while demanding more money. After she gave up $100, the man fled.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered the Pep Boys store in the 5800 block of Reisterstown Road Monday and stole a case of anti-car theft devices valued at nearly $700.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Shellbanks Road in Cherry Hill was in the 5300 block of Reisterstown Road Monday when a man with a screwdriver robbed her of cash and property, all valued at $50.

ARSON: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking the person who set fire to the Sun carryout in the 4700 block of Liberty Heights Ave. between Saturday and Monday, causing more than $20,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.

Baltimore County

MURDER TRY/ARREST: Garrison Precinct -- A 24-year-old resident of the first block of Brookebury Road was arguing with another man at his home Sunday when he was stabbed in the chest and back. The victim was taken by ambulance to a landing site, where a State Police helicopter flew him to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. His wounds were not thought to be life-threatening. At the scene, police arrested Michael Golder, 23, of the 6600 block of Spring Mill Court, and charged him with attempted murder. Other charges were pending. Mr. Golder was held at the precinct station without bail pending a bail review hearing today in District Court.

THEFT: Parkville Precinct -- During a party at a house in the first block of White Spruce Court on Sept. 1, guests reportedly stole $200, a briefcase, calculator, a personal organizer, and 12 compact discs, all valued at nearly $800. The theft was reported Monday.
