EAGLES (0-0) at GIANTS (0-0)

Time: 1 p.m., Ch. 45

Line: Giants by 3.

Key injuries: Eagles: RB Charlie Garner (rib) is out; QB Randall Cunningham (elbow), CB Mark McMillian (hip) are questionable.

Outlook: Dave Brown might be the least-known person ever to start at quarterback for the New York Giants. The Giants' defense might be the most vulnerable it has been since before Lawrence Taylor arrived. Randall Cunningham led the Eagles to a 4-0 start last season before missing the rest of the season with a knee injury. The Eagles' defense was really hurt by the losses of Seth Joyner and Clyde Simmons to Arizona.

COWBOYS (0-0) at STEELERS (0-0)

Time: 4 p.m., chs. 45, 5

Line: Cowboys by 5 1/2 .

Key injuries: Cowboys: RB Derrick Lassic (knee) is out; RB Daryl Johnston (foot) is questionable.

Outlook: There might be enough losses on defense to break up the Cowboys' party, but don't count on it. The Cowboys have two of the best corners in the league in Kevin Smith and Larry Brown, and that will allow Barry Switzer to gamble more on blitzes to hide whatever deficiencies there are up front. But Pittsburgh won't throw that much even with Neil O'Donnell's recovered arm. The Steelers will continue to rely on Barry Foster and a stifling defense.

CHARGERS (0-0) at BRONCOS (0-0)

Time: 8 p.m., TNT

Line: Broncos by 7.

Key injuries: Broncos: CB Randy Fuller (knee), C Keith Kartz (knee) are doubtful; TE Shannon Sharpe (ankle) is questionable.

Outlook: The Broncos' offense was good last season. Then they added running back Leonard Russell and wide receivers Anthony Miller and Mike Pritchard. The Chargers are vulnerable to good passing teams and can't afford to get in a shootout here. Quarterback Stan Humphries is healthy and that will be a big help, but San Diego needs Natrone Means to run the ball and the clock.
