1. Edgewood High graduate Robert Presbury and two other members of the Baltimore CFL's football team will help Bob Ward Homes kick off the grand opening of the Meadows At Bar Kess in Aberdeen in Harford County from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Bob Ward is building 20 "semi-custom" Colonials, bi-levels and ranch homes on lots ranging from one-third to one-half acre.

The Evergreen, a 2,124-square-foot, two-story home with a two-car garage and an unfinished basement, is the largest house offered at Bar Kess. The base price is $164,900.

The model has an optional 42-foot-long wraparound porch, which leads to a two-story foyer with an angled staircase. A powder room, mud room and linen closet are to the right and the 13-by-13-foot living room is to the left.

The smallest of the nine homes is the Hemlock, a three-bedroom split foyer with a one-car garage, 1,214 square feet of living space and a base price of $129,000. Add a family room and the price goes to $135,900.

The Cedar is a rancher. It has three bedrooms, two full baths and a full basement for $144,900. With a two-car garage the price is $152,900.

The sales center is open from noon to 6 p.m. daily. Take I-95 north to Route 22 East (Exit 85) to a left on Mt. Royal Avenue and follow signs to office.

2. PCS Homes will hold a grand opening of its three- and four-level townhouses at Harford Town in Abingdon in Harford County, where 32 homes were sold before the unveiling of the models. The community will have 207 homes.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, visitors to Harford Town will receive free food and beverages. Anyone buying a home will receive a $2,000 credit, which can be used to reduce the price of options or closing costs.

The largest home is the Leewood, with over 2,600 square feet of living space on four levels. The base price is $115,990 for an inside unit and $117,990 for an end-of-group house.

A 19-by-12-foot living room, 9-by-12-foot dining room and 12-by-12-foot kitchen are found on the entry level. The second floor has a full bath and bedrooms that are 19-by-11-foot and 12-by-12-foot. A third bedroom is optional. The Bradford has 2,244 square feet on three levels and a beginning price of $113,990. The first floor has a 21-by-11-foot living room, 11-by-9-foot dining room and 21-by-12-foot kitchen with a center work island.

The second floor has a 19-by-11-foot master bedroom with a walk-in closet, two more bedrooms and a full bath.

The Harford is a four-level, 2,210-square-foot home with a starting price of $108,990. The unfinished basement can be completed with an optional full bath and 15-by-16-foot family room.

The Fallston I, a 1,728-square-foot house with three levels, is the least expensive home at $89,990. It has a living room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor. The second floor has two master bedrooms and a full bath. The sales center is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Take I-95 North to Exit 77A (Route 24) to a left on Route 7 (Philadelphia Road) to a left on Swift Run Drive to the models.
