September 01, 1994

County police arrested an 18-year-old Glen Burnie man and a 16-year-old youth Monday night after an undercover narcotics detective bought suspected crack cocaine from them, officials said yesterday.

Rahman Sharif Allen of the 100 block of N. Warwickshire Lane was charged with possession of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine, police said. The 16-year-old, also of Glen Burnie, was charged as a juvenile and released to his parents, police said.

Police said the detective arranged to meet a man at 7 p.m. at the intersection of Heritage Hills Drive and Smithy Drive to buy $50 worth of crack. Once the officer bought the suspected drugs, detectives and uniformed officers moved in and arrested the man and the juvenile, police said.

The juvenile threw away a bag of suspected crack and tried to escape, police said. Officers recovered the bag, which they said contained 26 rocks of crack cocaine worth $1,000.
