Youth robbed at gunpoint by couple on pathway

A 17-year-old Wilde Lake youth was robbed at gunpoint by a man and a woman as he walked along a path behind Harpers Forest Apartments Monday night, county police said.

About 10:30 p.m., the youth was traveling in the rear of the apartment complex on Turnabout Lane in Harpers Choice when two suspects approached him, police said.

One of them displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspects took the victim's $20 and ran away, police said.

Rep Stage Company to conduct auditions

The Rep Stage Company, Columbia's professional acting company in residence at Howard Community College, will conduct open auditions for John Guare's comedy, "Six Degrees of Separation," from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at HCC's Smith Theatre.

Actors should sign up at 9 a.m. for an audition slot.

Auditions will also be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 11. Actors should sign up at 5 p.m.

Auditions will be readings from the script only; no prepared monologues will be needed. The script is on reserve in the HCC Library.

All 16 roles are open except the role of Ouisa.

Men and women ages 18-55 are needed.

Equity and non-Equity roles are available; all roles are paid.

Production is scheduled from Nov. 11-20.

* Harper's Choice: 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A wallet was taken after someone broke a home's rear sliding glass door with a rock and entered early Monday morning, police said.

* Hickory Ridge: 10800 block of Vista Road: A sliding glass door was found broken after a would-be burglar apparently tried to pry it open Sunday morning, police said.
