* SHOOTING: Southern District -- A 37-year-old resident of the 1500 block of Boyle St. was listed in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center following a gunshot wound to the head Sunday night. A witness told police that the man was toying with a handgun at his home when he pointed the weapon at his head and pulled the trigger, police said. Police were interviewing at least one witness and continued to investigate the incident.

* CAB HOLDUP: Northern District -- A driver for Royal cab was robbed Sunday morning in the 3200 block of Old York Road. The 30-year-old cabbie told police he picked up a male passenger at 28th and Barclay streets around 5 a.m. and was told to drive to Loch Raven and McClean boulevards, which do not intersect. When the cabbie reached the 3200 block of Old York Road, the fare told him to stop. The passenger then pulled out a handgun and robbed the cabbie of an undisclosed sum of money. The gunman then struck the victim with his fist and escaped on foot.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A mountain bike worth nearly $150 was stolen from the rear yard of a house in the 2600 block of Miles Ave. over the weekend.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A TV and two rings, all worth more than $3,000, were stolen from a house in the 400 block of E. Northern Parkway between Saturday and Sunday.

* ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who cut a resident of the 4000 block of Ayrdale Ave. on the head with a broken bottle during an incident in the 3600 block of Dolfield Ave. Sunday.

* STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A blue 1992 Honda Accord with tags 430 AVH was stolen Sunday from the 4500 block of Fairfax Road.

* CUTTING/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a woman who cut a relative with a knife Sunday during an incident at their home in the 3100 block of Virginia Ave.

* ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man known as "Shawn" who struck a resident of the 5900 block of Park Heights Ave. with a baseball bat in the 3100 block of Wylie Ave. Sunday.


* THEFT: Essex Precinct -- Someone entered a truck parked in the first block of Stuart Ave. over the weekend and stole tools valued at nearly $1,500.

* THEFT: Parkville Precinct -- Tools, pipe fittings and sump pumps, all worth more than $800, were stolen from a truck parked in the 7900 block of Belridge Road over the weekend.
