Baltimore County offers food for poor

Surplus federal food will be distributed to eligible Baltimore County residents at 10 sites next month.

Nine distributions will start at 8:30 a.m. Parkton American Legion Post 256, 19520 York Road, will distribute food from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Other dates and places are:

* Sept. 20, County Government Building, Wise Avenue and Merritt Boulevard, Dundalk.

* Sept. 21, St. Luke's Church, 7517 North Point Road, Edgemere.

* Sept. 22, Knights of Columbus Hall, 1707 Eastern Blvd., Essex.

* Sept. 23, Victory Villa Community Center, 404 Compass Road, Middle River.

* Sept. 26, Banneker Community Building, Main and Wesley avenues, Catonsville.

* Sept. 27, Hiss United Methodist Church, 8700 Harford Road, Parkville.

* Sept. 28, St. Clements Church, Washington and Second avenues.

* Sept. 29, Liberty Family Resource Center, Liberty Road and Brenbrook Drive.

* Sept. 30, Reisterstown United Methodist Church, 246 Main St., Owings Mills.
