Motorcycle crash victim still critical

A Woodbine man remained in critical but stable condition in the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore yesterday after a motorcycle accident sent him sliding along Route 97 in Glenelg Sunday, Howard County police said.

According to traffic investigators, John Vincent, 50, of Mullinix Mill Road was riding his motorcycle north on Route 97 about 1 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of the vehicle and fell off. He and his bike slid down the roadway and off the northbound shoulder of the road, police said.

Mr. Vincent was flown by a state police MedEvac unit to the Baltimore hospital.

POLICE

* Morgan Run: A resident of Oak Tree Road told state police someone threw rocks through the rear window of his 1986 Ford van while it was parked near his house Saturday. He estimated the damage at $550.

FIRE

* Mount Airy: Equipment from Mount Airy responded to an auto fire on South Main Street at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 25 minutes.

* Winfield: Firefighters from the Winfield station responded for wires down on Old Liberty Road at 9:20 a.m. Monday. They were out for an hour.
