* CABBIE SHOT: Southwestern District -- A 38-year-old driver for Diamond cab was stopped in the 4900 block of Frederick Road around 10 p.m. Monday while a fare exited the vehicle when the driver of a passing car fired one shot that struck the cabbie in the neck. The vehicle, a late model Toyota with two male passengers, drove off. The wounded cabbie, Jeffrey Bradford, of the 400 block of N. Ellwood Ave., drove himself to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was treated and listed today in good condition. Police said the bullet that struck the cab driver exited his body. The cabbie apparently recognized the men in the car and gave police the nicknames of suspects who are being sought.

* SHOOTING: Southern District -- A 30-year-old resident of the 100 block of W. Cross St. was today listed in guarded condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the head Monday afternoon at the intersection of W. Cross and Race streets. The victim was found lying in the street shortly before 5 p.m. by uniformed police who heard at least one gunshot. Police said the man was shot in the back of the neck and that the bullet exited his forehead. Police had no arrest in the case and knew of no motive for the shooting.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A guitar, telephone, amplifier and a cassette deck, all valued at more than $800, were stolen from a house in the 2600 block of N. Calvert St. Monday by someone who entered through a rear door.

* STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A red two-door 1986 Toyota Corolla with tags WCH 965 was stolen from the 4700 block of Wakefield Road Monday.

* STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- Someone stole a blue two-door 1989 Chevrolet with tags 531026M from the parking lot of an apartment development in the 6600 block of Eberle Drive.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A driver for New Pikesville cab company in the 6100 block of Reisterstown Road was in the 3400 block of Bateman Ave. Monday morning when a gunman robbed him of more than $70.


* ROBBERY: White Marsh Precinct -- A man who implied he had a handgun robbed the High's dairy store in the 6300 block of Kenwood Ave. of about $50 Monday night. The bandit, a white man in his mid-20s and wearing a blue hooded sweat-shirt, fled on foot toward Hazelwood Court.

* ROBBERY: White Marsh Precinct -- A man with a knife robbed the Crown service station in the 8900 block of Belair Road of more than $100 Monday night. After asking the attendant for change, the man pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register. He then asked the attendant if there was any money in the safe. When the attendant told him the safe was locked, the man wished the attendant a nice day and escaped on foot.

* BANK ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- A man robbed the Signet Bank in the 10300 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum of money shortly after the bank opened Monday morning. After demanding money from a teller and implying he was armed, the man left the bank with cash, among which was a hidden dye pack. Outside, the dye pack exploded but the man was able to escape with the money.

* BURGLARY: Garrison Precinct -- Someone entered a house being renovated in the first block of Chittendon Lane over the weekend and stole several power tools and electronic equipment.
