A 50-year-old Woodbine man was in critical condition in the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore yesterday after a motorcycle accident sent him sliding along Route 97 in Glenelg Sunday, Howard County police said.

According to traffic investigators, John Vincent, 50, of Mullinix Mill Road was riding his motorcycle north on Route 97 about 1 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of the vehicle and fell off. He and his bike slid down the roadway and off the northbound shoulder of the road, police said.

Mr. Vincent was flown by a state police MedEvac unit to the Baltimore hospital. The accident was still being investigated yesterday, police said.
