Johns Hopkins to induct 13 into Hall in October

Johns Hopkins University will induct 13 members into the charter class of the school's athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 29.

Ceremonies will be held following the 1:30 p.m. Johns Hopkins-Dickinson football game. The 13 members also will be honored during halftime of the game.

Included among the inductees are athletic director Bob Scott (Class of '52) and Joe Cowan (Class of '69), a lacrosse and football star who still holds school records in both sports.

The other inductees are: Henry Ciccarone (Class of '62); Louis Clark (Class of '22); Bill Jews (Class of '74); C. Gardner Mallonee (Class of '28); Bill Milne (Class of '74); Dr. G. Wilson Shaffer (Class of '24); Fred Smith (Class of '50); Bill Stromberg (Class of '82); Harry Tighe (Class of '50); Doug Turnbull (Class of '25) and Jack Turnbull (Class of '32).
