Sub deliveryman robbed

A Subrunners deliveryman was robbed Wednesday night after he made a stop in the 2100 block of Willie Drive, county police said.

Reuben Jones Jr., 44, was flagged down shortly before 10 p.m. by three men, at least one of whom was a teen-ager, police said. The teen-ager pulled out a silver snub-nosed handgun, put it to Mr. Jones' head and demanded money and the food, police said.

Mr. Jones handed over both, and the three ran south on Willie Drive toward Bestgate Road, police said. Mr. Jones was not injured. Subrunners is located in the Forest Plaza shopping center on Forest Drive near Solomons Island Road.

2 men face charges of drug distribution

Annapolis police arrested two men Tuesday on charges of possessing drugs with intent to distribute.

They were arrested in the 900 block of Royal St. about 11:20 a.m. after reports that two men were trying to sell drugs, police said.

Police said they searched the car in which the men were sitting and found marijuana and several rocks of crack cocaine. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Connecticut.

Maurice Elanzo Hall, 23, of the 500 block of Oaklawn St. was being held in the county jail in lieu of a $27,000 bond, and Richard Miller, 20, of New Haven, Conn., was being held on a $20,000 bond.

$1,207 ring bought with bogus check

Annapolis police are searching for the person who paid for a men's gold and diamond ring with a bad check in the amount of $1,207 at a downtown jewelry store.

The ring was purchased Aug. 13 at Objects of Interest, 48 Maryland Ave. A few days later, the store's manager discovered that the check had been written on a closed account.
