BALTIMORE CITY

* SHOOTING: Western District -- A man was shot on the second floor of the Odyssey Lounge in the 1300 block of Presstman St. about 1 a.m. yesterday. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was listed in good condition after treatment for a gunshot wound to the left arm. William Johnson, 26, of the 800 block of N. Broadway, was taken into custody at the scene and was charged with assault with intent to murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun as a convicted felon and use of a handgun with an obliterated serial number. He was being held last night at the Western District lockup awaiting a bail hearing. A handgun believed to have been used in the shooting was found in a police search of a wooded area in the 1400 block of N. Calhoun St. The shooting was believed to have been the result of an argument.

* THEFT: Northwestern District -- A .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun, a television set and a checkbook, all valued at nearly $500, were stolen from a car parked in the 4500 block of Liberty Heights Ave. over the weekend.

* BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered the Save Way market in the 4600 block of Park Heights Ave. through the front door Tuesday and stole soft drinks, ice cream, cigarettes and money.

* STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A white, four-door 1994 Hyundai with Maryland tags BJM 336 was stolen from the 3600 block of Labyrinth Road Monday or Tuesday.

* BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A microwave oven valued at $300 was stolen from a house in the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave. Tuesday.

* BURGLARY:BURGLARY: Northern District -- Tools valued at $300 were stolen from a house in the 2900 block of Huntingdon Ave. Tuesday.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who entered a home in the 800 block of Wellington St. Monday or Tuesday and stole a cordless telephone and a videocassette recorder, all valued at more than $300.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* SHOOTING: Essex Precinct -- A 19-year-old resident of the 4100 block of Eierman Ave. in Northeast Baltimore was shot in the chest Tuesday night during an argument with another man in the 700 block of Shipfriend Road. When police arrived about 9:30 p.m., they found the victim lying on the ground in front of a dwelling in the Maplecrest Townhouse development. The gunman, who was known to the victim, escaped and is being sought. The victim was flown by state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was reported in good condition.

* ROBBERIES: Essex Precinct -- Police were seeking four men in connection with two robberies within minutes of each other Tuesday night. At 11 p.m., two Essex-area men were walking across the footbridge over Route 702 when they were robbed of nearly $70 by four men, one armed with a shotgun. Less than 15 minutes later, a 29-year-old resident of Holgate Drive was at Timber Creek Court when he was robbed of $20 by four men, one armed with a shotgun.
