ROBBERY TRY/CUTTING: Northern District -- A couple was in the 400 block of E. 31st St. early today when a man approached and attempted to steal the woman's carrying bag. When her male friend confronted the man, he was cut on the left arm and neck with an unknown sharp object. The man fled without taking any property. The victim was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police were seeking the former boyfriend of a resident of the 800 block of Druid Lake Park Drive who stole the woman's earrings and pager, all valued at more than $1,000, during an argument at the woman's home Wednesday.

THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man at his home after he reportedly stole a $10 magazine from the Blockbuster video store in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. Wednesday. When confronted by a store employee about the magazine and told to wait for the police, the man fled the store and rode off on a bike. Left behind was his 10-year-old son. After police arrived on the scene, the son told them where he lived. Police went to a house in the 2600 block of Greenmount Ave. and arrested the 35-year-old father and recovered the magazine. The man was being held at the station pending formal charges. The son was turned over to the custody of his mother.

THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man who attempted to leave the Stop, Shop & Save store in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. Wednesday without paying for a bottle of brandy worth $11.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered the rear yard of a house in the 3700 block of Ellerslie Ave. Wednesday and stole a gas operated lawn mower valued at $200.

THEFT: Northern District -- Building materials of unknown value were stolen from the 4800 block of Strawflower Court Monday. The theft was reported Wednesday.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered the back yard of a house in the 1000 block of Roland Heights Ave. Tuesday or Wednesday and stole a white 12-foot by 8-foot rug valued at more than $700.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from a house in the 2400 block of Winchester St. Tuesday by someone who entered through a second-floor window. Taken were two VCRs, several computer game tapes, a TV control center, microwave oven, and a vacuum cleaner.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Cedardale Ave. was robbed of $27 in the 4400 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A white four-door 1987 Nissan with tags ZKP 142 was stolen Wednesday from the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a carryout in the first block of S. Franklintown Road of an undisclosed sum of money Tuesday night.

Baltimore County

STOLEN CAR: Garrison Precinct -- During a fight between the owner of a Jeep Cherokee and several youths in the 3700 block of Offutt Road in Randallstown Tuesday night, one of the combatants got into the vehicle and drove off. The Jeep, with tags 636105M, reportedly had not been recovered.
