The Crofton Runners will hold their monthly 5-mile and 2-mile runs at 8 a.m. Saturday at Crofton Park on Davidsonville Road. All runners are welcome. As always, there is no entry fee, just a good run for all who attend. Nita Walsh of Columbia won the women's 5-mile in July. Burrell Davidson of Davidsonville won the 2-mile, and Ron Bowles of Bowie won the men's 2-mile. Terry Shaner of Fort Meade and David MacLeod of Silver Spring were the top finishers in the men's 5-mile. The top two runners in each age class were: 30-39, Jim Michela of Silver Spring and Doug Drabkowski of Lanham; 40-49, Larry Puglisi of Gambrills and Ted Hogan of Stevensville; 50-59, Dick Miller of Bowie and Roland Ortega of Towson; 60-plus, Tom Jones of Bowie and Bill D. Burlison of Odenton. Let's hope this coming weekend has the same great weather we had this past weekend.
