Craig election committee to hold picnic today

The Committee to Elect David Craig to the state Senate will sponsor a picnic from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, at the Harford Equestrian Center, Tollgate Road, Bel Air.

Tickets for the event, which includes roast beef and pork, are $25 for adults and $2 for children ages 10 and younger.

Mr. Craig is a Republican member of the House of Delegates.

Candidates' Day set at Joppatowne park

Bring a picnic and meet candidates running for county and state offices at Candidates' Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14 at the pavilion at Mariner's Point Park, Kearney Drive, in Joppatowne.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Joppatowne Civic Association, Foster Branch Homeowners Association and Rumsey Island Residents Association. It will take place rain or shine. Candidates for county executive, County Council president, County Council, sheriff and the House of Delegates will attend.

Harkins schedules chicken barbecue

Del. James M. Harkins, a District 35A Republican who is seeking re-election, will hold an Old-Fashioned Chicken Barbecue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Harford County Equestrian Center, Tollgate Road, Bel Air.

The menu will include barbecued chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, homemade desserts, beverages and beer.

Comes to sponsor sail to raise re-election funds

An Inner Harbor sail on the tall ship Clipper City Aug. 16 will help raise funds for Sheriff Robert E. Comes' re-election campaign.

A bus is scheduled to leave at 6 p.m. from Harford Mall in Bel Air to take cruise participants to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The ship will sail at 7 p.m. and return at 10 p.m.

Food will be served and a cash bar will be available. Tickets, $25 a person, can be obtained at Comes re-election headquarters, 24 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Bel Air.

New Democratic club to meet in Belcamp

Talk with local Democratic candidates when the new East Harford County Democratic Club holds its first meeting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Riverside Community Center in Belcamp.
