MADD seeks donations for yard sale

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Howard County, is collecting used items for its annual Giant Yard Sale next month.

Usable castoffs such as household items, small appliances, toys, sporting goods, books, furniture, glassware and clothes are welcome. Please call the MADD office for information about dropping off items.

All donations are tax-deductible and all funds raised by the sale will remain in Howard County.

* Ellicott City: 12500 block of Frederick Road: Someone entered an unlocked garage Wednesday and stole an electric boat motor. Earlier that day on the same block, video games were taken from a home after someone entered through a basement window, police said.

3700 block of Bonnybridge Place: A compact disc player was stolen July29 after someone entered an apartment through an unlocked door, police said.

4100 block of Dorsey Hall Drive: An officer responding to an alarm at the Dorsey Hall Mansion Tuesday found a door kicked open, but nothing was taken, police said.

9000 block of Town and Country Blvd.: A turquoise 1993 Ford Festiva with Maryland tags ANV147 was stolen Monday or Tuesday, police said.
