Teen charged as adult in July 25 armed robbery

A 16-year-old Annapolis youth was arrested Tuesday and charged as an adult with an armed robbery that occurred last week.

Romano Marcellus Coates of the first block of Bens Drive was being held yesterday in the county jail in lieu of $175,000 bail. He was arrested near his home around 9 p.m.

He is accused of robbingPatricia Lynn Wilson-Delp, 50, of the first block of Dumbarton Court about 10:20 p.m. July 25. The victim told police a man with a handgun accosted her and took her purse as she approached her home.

Woman charged over stolen check

A 30-year-old Edgewater woman was charged with theft and forgery Tuesday after being arrested at an Annapolis bank.

The manager of the Farmers National Bank in the 1000 block of Bay Ridge Ave. called police around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and told them a woman was trying to cash a stolen check.

The woman was arrested as she left the bank. According to police reports, she had several checks belonging to her former roommate. The checks were allegedly taken between July 25 and July 27.

Charlmayne Holland of the 300 block of Highland Drive was being held in the county jail yesterday in lieu of $850 bail.
