Man arrested, charged with abusing stepson

A 33-year-old Annapolis man has been arrested and charged with abuse of his 11-year-old stepson, city police said.

The boy's mother, Teresa Meiklejohn, 32, called police to her home in the 400 block of Captains Circle shortly after midnight yesterday.

She told officers that when she and her son arrived home earlier that evening, her husband grabbed the boy, struck him on the legs and pushed him across the room, police said. The child did not require medical attention.

George Alfred Meiklejohn of 21 Cornhill St. was being held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Annapolis man robbed while riding bicycle

An Annapolis man was hit in the face and robbed while riding his bicycle on Bay Ridge Avenue early yesterday.

Michael Romuald Krolak, 20, of the 100 block of King George St. told police that a man assaulted him and knocked him off the bicycle as he approached Bens Drive about 12:40 a.m. The assailant then took the bicycle, valued at $150, and rode off.

Mr. Krolak was not injured.



* Annapolis: Police are searching for two men who robbed the Thrift Auto Sales in the 2000 block of West St. at gunpoint about 9:30 a.m. Friday, taking $900.
