Keys 3-hit Salem, take 1st of two, 2-0

FREDERICK -- Matt Jarvis, Scott Conner and Chris Lemp combined on a three-hit, seven-inning shutout as the Frederick Keys defeated the Salem Buccaneers, 2-0, in the first game of a doubleheader.

Frederick, 21-11 in the second half, is 3 1/2 games ahead of Prince William in the Northern Division of the Single-A Carolina League.

Jarvis yielded one hit and struck out four in five innings of work. Lemp allowed a hit and a walk in the ninth but recorded his 17th save.

Roy Hodge and Lincoln Martin each had RBI singles for the Keys, who also had only three hits.
