July 29, 1994

NEW YORK -- Rick Sutcliffe of the St. Louis Cardinals was suspended for eight games and fined by National League president Leonard Coleman yesterday for throwing at and hitting pitcher Marvin Freeman of the Colorado Rockies in a game July 17.
