Man wielding revolver robs Ritchie Highway Remco store

July 29, 1994

A man armed with a pearl-handled revolver robbed a Remco store Wednesday afternoon of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

The man walked into the store in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway shortly after 1 p.m. and pretended to be a customer for a few seconds, witnesses told police. Then he pulled the gun, also described as long-barreled and black, from his waistband and ordered all employees to lie on the floor, police said.

He ordered the manager of the store to get all the money from the cash register, then walked out of the store toward the rear of Cycle World, police said. Northern District officers searched the area but couldn't find the suspect, police said.

The man was described as a black male about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He had dark hair but was bald on the back of his head. He had stubble on his face and a tooth missing. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a cartoon character on the back, black shorts and white shoes.
