POLICE

* Westminster: A Winchester Drive resident reported someone damaged a soda machine and forced it open, stealing the coins Sunday. The loss and damage to the machine, which was in the rear of the first block of E. Main St., is estimated at $260.

A resident of Middle Grove Court told police someone stole his bicycle, valued at $40, from outside his home Sunday.

A representative of Marsar Development on East Main Street reported someone broke into a house under construction on Buck Cash Drive and stole property valued at $350 Saturday.

A Chase Street resident reported someone stole two bicycles from her house Saturday. She estimated their value at $189.

An official of Leggett's Department store reported someone stole merchandise valued at $85 Saturday.

A representative of Anagraphics in the 140 Village Shopping Center told police someone stole a tool box from the store Thursday. The loss is estimated at $478.

* Finksburg: A resident of Dellview Drive told state police someone broke into his home and stole a diamond ring and $110 cash between July 17 and 22. The loss is estimated at $1,210.

FIRE

* Reese: Firefighters from Reese investigated a report of smoke in the area of Routes 140 and 91 at 10:45 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 18 minutes.

* Westminster: Firefighters from the Westminster station responded to a mailbox fire on Glen Drive at 1:17 a.m. Sunday. They were out for 29 minutes.
