POLICE LOG

* Ellicott City: 4000 block of Seabird Way: Someone punched a hole over a latch in a rear window of a home between July 9 and July 15, unlocked the latch and went inside. Stolen were VCRs, jewelry, an undisclosed amount of rolled coins and cash, computer equipment and an answering machine.

10100 block of Baltimore National Pike: Bethany 40 Center: Three break-ins or attempted break-ins were reported Saturday night in several stores in the shopping center. Someone smashed a door at Little George's Saturday night and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Someone also broke a window at Mane Appearance Beauty Salon and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Someone cracked glass at S & W Optical, but failed to gain entry.

10000 block of Route 40: The Enchanted Forest Shopping Center: A late-shift officer responding to a sounding alarm at Jilly's Restaurant Saturday found that Jilly's was secure. However, the rear door of nearby Hair Cuttery was unlocked and a bank bag was missing.

8600 block of Baltimore National Pike: A 1993 silver Honda Accord was stolen from O'Donnell Honda from the service area Thursday night. The theft was reported 6 p.m. Friday. The keys and paperwork for the car also were stolen. The Maryland license plates are 572-AGS.

* Elkridge: 7500 block of Route 1: An officer responding to a sounding alarm at Sunny's Surplus shortly after 4:30 a.m. Sunday, found the front door had been smashed. Jeans were stolen.

7500 block of Route 1: Someone tried to steal a 1986 Ford Bronco between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.
