July 14, 1994

A 29-year-old motorist was in stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after he swerved to avoid hitting a deer and crashed into a tree yesterday morning, police said.

Andrew T. Hulsey of the 500 block of Little John Hill in Sherwood Forest told police he left a restaurant between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. and was driving along Sherwood Forest Road when a deer wandered in front of his car.

Mr. Hulsey lost control of his car, which went down an embankment before it hit the tree.

After the accident, Mr. Hulsey was able to walk to his home, where he called paramedics, police said.

No one else was in the car, police said.
