Man with handgun robs Ellicott City gas station

An armed man robbed an Ellicott City gas station and then fled with stolen cash early yesterday morning, Howard County police said.

No injuries were reported in the 2:17 a.m. robbery. According to police, the man entered a small store at the Crown service station in the 9300 block of Route 40 and approached the cashier.

Police say the man displayed a handgun and demanded cash. Once the cashier turned over the money, the man ran from the building.

Detectives are continuing the investigation.

* Ellicott City: 10000 block of Route 40: A red 1988 Saab 9000 with Maryland tags 899 AAN was stolen from the lot of the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center Friday, police said.
