Homers, Powell lead Keys past Bulls, 3-0

FREDERICK -- Eric Chavez and Clayton Byrne both homered to back Jay Powell's seven innings of three-hit pitching, leading the Frederick Keys (12-7) to a 3-0 win over the Durham Bulls (14-6) in a Single-A Carolina League game at Harry Grove Stadium yesterday.

Powell, the Orioles' top draft pick in 1993, evened his record at 6-6. Chris Lemp pitched the ninth for his 12th save.
