Lloyd Tydings of The Nature Company in Annapolis, will bring some of his scaly friends to the Brooklyn Park Branch Library, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday for his show Snakes Alive!

Tydings will discuss snakes indigenous to Maryland -- their habits, how they eat and grow, and their place in the world.

Tydings' show may include a king snake, a black rat snake, a corn snake and other varieties. Children will have an exciting hands-on experience.

This event, part of the library's summer reading program, is free and open to children entering grades one through six in the fall. Seating is limited for this hourlong program and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The library is at 1 E. 11th Ave. For more information, call 222-6260.
