* Ellicott City: 3500 block of Lakeway Drive: Someone pulled the soft top of an Isuzu Samurai off track and stole a $250 stereo from inside on Tuesday, police said.

3100 block of Pine Orchard Lane: A radar detector and stereo were stolen from a white Chevrolet Cavalier Monday. Police said the property was valued at about $650.

10000 block of Route 40: An officer responding to an alarm at Glamorous Hair and Nails found the front door lock twisted off early Thursday. Cash was stolen, police said.

3500 block of Folly Quarter Road: Police said a man posing as a meter reader entered a home and stole an undetermined amount of silver Tuesday. The suspect was described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with red hair, weighing 150 pounds

8500 block of Frederick Road: Someone used a ladder to climb through a home's unlocked second-floor window Wednesday, but police said nothing was taken.
