Store manager accused of theft

The manager of the House of Fabrics in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway faces three counts of theft for allegedly stealing about $3,000 in checks and cash June 28, police said.

Patricia Schwarz, 40, of the 13100 block of Folly Quarter Road, allegedly used $798.31 from deposits to pay her car insurance, police said. She also said she took $1,500 from the cash register, police said.

Habitat for Humanity completes 4th home

Arundel Habitat for Humanity has completed its fourth and final home in Marley Park. It was the organization's 11th home in the county.

The homeowners, the Umberger family, have seven children. The split-level home they and other volunteers with Habitat for Humanity built has five bedrooms and two baths. The public is invited to join in dedication ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday at 7600 McGowan Ave.

* Cromwell: William L. Thrash, 39, of the 1000 block of E. Lanvale St., Baltimore, was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing five pairs of silk men's boxer shorts from a Caldor Department Store at 7387 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.
