June 30, 1994

A 50-year-old Odenton man was arrested early yesterday on drugs and weapons charges after state police raided his home in the 1500 block of Grays Ford Road, police said.

Joseph Raymond Bogdanowicz was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine and motor vehicle theft.

Police said he ran a marijuana growing operation.

He was arrested about 5 a.m. by the Metropolitan Area Drug Task Force.

The raid culminated a monthlong investigation by several police agencies, including state and Anne Arundel County police forces.

A tip about a large-scale drug operation triggered the investigation, police said.

Authorities said they seized four pounds of marijuana, 14 grams of crack cocaine, 10 handguns, 21 other weapons, a hydroponic growing system, six locked safes, a stolen 1977 GMC truck, a Ford Mustang and $35,168.

Boy hit by round from BB gun

Two 16-year-old Pioneer City youths were arrested and charged with reckless endangerment Tuesday after a round from a BB gun hit a 9-year-old boy in the head.

Police said the gun was being fired in a backyard in the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn about 12:30 p.m. when a round hit the child in the left side of his head. Police said they did not know whether the gun was intentionally aimed at the boy or whether the shooting was accidental.

The boy was taken to North Arundel Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

The two 16-year-old youths were charged and released to their ** parents.
