Minnesota Twins -- Purchased the contract of P Kevin Campbell from Triple-A Salt Lake City. Optioned P Brett Merriman to Salt Lake City. Announced that P Erik Schullstrom has been promoted from Double-A Nashville to Salt Lake City. Promoted P Javy DeJesus from Single-A Fort Wayne.

Montreal Expos -- Announced OF Larry Walker has dropped his appeal and begun serving a four-game suspension.

New York Mets -- Activated OF Rick Parker from the DL and outrighted him to Triple-A Norfolk. Announced that the club has reached a working agreement with the Melbourne Monarchs of the Australian Baseball League for the 1994-95 season.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Signed former Orioles P Fernando Valenzuela. Claimed OF Rick Holifield off waivers from Double-A Knoxville.

San Diego Padres -- Placed IF Tim Hyers on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 22. Recalled IF Ray Holbert from Triple-A Las Vegas.
