Hot line tells about airport noise, construction

June 24, 1994

Baltimore-Washington International Airport has opened TC Noise Information Line that will provide recorded information on airport operating conditions and construction schedules.

The line will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. weekdays and all day Saturdays and Sundays. The number is 859-7669.

BWI will continue to operate a separate line for noise complaints. To record a message, residents may call 859-7021.

Because of construction work to lengthen Runway 10/28, BWI flights are varying their usual departure and arrival patterns. The runway is closed periodically, causing flights to be diverted to other runways.

During hot, humid weather, more aircraft will be directed onto Runways 33L for landings and 15R for departures. That will bring more flights over Elkridge, Hanover and Catonsville. Residents of Glen Burnie, Severn and Severna Park should not see any changes.
