2 children abducted, return unharmed

Two children, ages 3 and 7, were abducted Tuesday morning from the Robinwood Trailer Park in the 600 block of Regatta, county police said.

Police said the children were returned unharmed shortly after the abduction and that Dale Norman Crites of the 600 block of Regatta was charged with two counts of abducting a child under 12.

The children's mother told police that Mr. Crites, 55, is her boyfriend and that they had an argument before the children were abducted about 10 a.m., police said.

Clothing stolen from area Kmart

A 21-year-old Westport woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged in the theft of $83 worth of clothes from a Kmart store in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway, county police said.

Police said the woman entered the store shortly before 6 p.m. with a grocery bag in her hand, went to the ladies' clothing section, put two blazers and two skirts in the bag and headed out the door. A security guard stopped her before she left the store, police said.

Mavis Amanda Cole of the 2200 block of Sidney Ave. was held until police arrived.
