Mount View Middle School students have town councils to represent each grade. This year the sixth-grade town council coordinated an American Heart Association Jump-a-thon. With the whole sixth grade participating in the project, students raised $1,280, most of which went directly to the American Heart Association. The town council designated 10 percent of the money for charitable work within our community.

Sarah Marshall's $75 total made her the top money-raiser, and Aldema Ridge's advisory class raised the most money.

The students were organized into teams, and Shelly Williams' team, the Jumping Kangaroos, was the team that raised the most money. Dorothea Beckham's advisory class won a poster contest to promote the Jump-a-thon.

Teen-agers who love roller coasters, water parks and days filled with fun and friends won't want to miss the St. Louis Catholic Youth Ministry's annual Kings Dominion trip July 6.

The group is leaving the church at 8 a.m. and returning at 10 p.m. The $35 fee includes transportation and admission to the park.

Call Maureen Hines at 531-6668 for more information.
