Baseball New York Mets -- Placed 1B David Segui on the 15-day disabled list. Recalled 1B Rico Brogna from Triple-A Norfolk. Signed P Kevin Manley and C Daniel Engle and assigned them to the Gulf Coast League (Rookie) Mets.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Placed P Larry Andersen on the 15-day DL. Recalled P Toby Borland from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Basketball Miami Tropics (USBL) -- Signed F Evers Burns (Maryland) and G Clarence Thompson. Activated Burns and placed Thompson on the taxi squad.

College Pacific 10 Conference -- Placed Arizona State's football program and the football and baseball programs of Washington State on probation for several violations of NCAA regulations.

American International -- Named Art Hawkins football coach.

Ball State -- Named Jolette Law women's assistant basketball coach.

Bloomsburg -- Named Kathy Gailor women's basketball coach.

Cal State Fullerton -- Named Kelley Hall women's first assistant basketball coach and recruiting coordinator.

East Carolina -- Named Lew Hill men's assistant basketball coach.

Fairleigh Dickinson -- Extended the contract of Sharon Manning Beverly, women's basketball coach, through 1997.

Pepperdine -- Announced that Andy Lopez has resigned as baseball coach to accept a similar position at the University of Florida.

Virginia -- Named Pete Herrmann men's assistant basketball coach.

Football Philadelphia Eagles -- Signed RB Vaughn Hebron (Cardinal Gibbons), S Marvin Goodwin and LB Ryan McCoy.

CFL Colts -- Added WR Marcus Grant to the roster. Released RE Ivan Caesar, DB Enis Jackson, RE Erik Ringoen, RE Rod Brown, HB C.J. Masters, LB Felix Parham, CB Wayne Williams, WR Marcus Goodwin, WR Clayton Driver, OL Ray Porter and OL Jason Youngblood.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) -- Released LB Dennis Johnson, LB Darrell Mossburg and WR Mark Morgan.

Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL) -- Added LB Jeff Braswell to the roster.
